Cardiovascular Training

Cardiovascular training is exercise that works our heart and lungs. Resistance training is also good for this, but extra calories can be burnt and we can see our fitness improve if we include more aerobic and anaerobic exercise into our programs such as jogging, rowing and sprint training.

The program should be designed for the individual and should be specific for the goals of the individual. For example, it isn't of great benefit for a sprinter to do long distance running as it will not improve their explosive speed and strength (power).
